PINK is my least favorite color, but Line makes an exquisite use of it, together with the color red and abstract compositions. So I think I simply love her art! Speaking of pink and the use of colors... Jan of the famed... [Lire la suite]

Bold Art with a Statement

Hello Lovelies! This post has been inspired by this house tour, esp. this image: Just like the French journalist of "Journal de la maison", I think that, on a big white wall, with no windows, i love to see a big colorful piece of art. It makes such a bold statement! In my home, I use my own oil paintings, but here are a few examples of art I love: stunning photo by Joanna Henderson via the ever wonderful sunny blog More pics to come! -Beautymist.

Daily Poetics

It all started with Fall Colors, Yellow, Red, Orange, Green. All collected by the PoppyTalk blog that I so love. On the "collecting red" day, I noticed a picture i really liked, it's on the fourth (and bottom) line on this mosaic, the third in the row, when you start looking from the left. And I immediately noticed that said picture was by Flickr member "dailypoetics". I immediately fell for that name. And what a delight was is to discover that behind "Daily Poetics" stood a very interesting collage... [Lire la suite]

Mingei : Japanese Folk Arts

Since I missed the exhibition "l'esprit MINGEI" in the quai Branly Museum in Paris last year, I was intrigued to know what it was all about... I'm a fan of Japan and its arts, both traditional and modern. And then I inherited a book from a dear friend, called "The Folk Arts of Japan", with an introduction of the founder of the concept of Mingei Art, Yanagi Soetsu, who turned out to be the founder of the Mingei movement! By Googling around a bit, I stumbled upon a Mingei Art Museum... online. This is the site... [Lire la suite]
