super cute!

hello cute hedgehog... what are you doing on my design blog? well beside from being super cute, this hedgehog shares a small but cleverly arranged space with a cat (!) and Brandy, the human owner here. I love Brandy's place in Chicago... check it out! The Chicago Reader has issued a nice piece on 8 stylish small places and urban dwellings of the area. Brandy's place is part of that interesting article. AT reported about it, too, so I guess it means it's a must-read or... browse. Beautymist.

Li Edelkoort's 50 faves.

Li is a designer, a trend chaser (or forecaaster), and a style guru. She's a great inspiration to us all design addicts. For more info, you can also check out Li's website. Or read her interview with DesignBoom. Today I just want to share with you 50 trends/faves of hers, dating back to the '90s, and compare with what's happening today on the design scene... Click on the image to see it bigger and read the text... I really like the last two on her list. ;-) Beautymist. source : from "ELLE decorationUK... [Lire la suite]

Week-end in green and red

hello, for those of you who wondered where i've been and why i haven't blogged more around here, well I have a colorful answer. My days have simply been filled with green and red! Green is for my little succulents (new baby ones), and my cup  of green tea (actually it's sage in that China cup) while red is for the red lipstick I just bought myself today. Green is beautiful, but I was in need of some vibrant red too. Big kisses to all of you...Mwah !!! And see you soon here, whatever the color or mood i'm in... ... [Lire la suite]

MCM deco

hi, Marie Claire Maison is a wonderful decor magazine, and a nice website, too.  here are three examples of photos of rooms they published and that I like, each room being very different in mood from the others. If you don't read French, just ignore the text !

An avid movie goer

hello and happy easter everyone ! Today I'm not going to tell you about egg hunts nor even bunnies but about movies.Yes, I love to go to "a theatre near you", and I see a lot of films. I just saw "Curse of the Golden Flower" - not that I'm convinced that this is truly the translation of the Chinese title : "Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia" -This is an amazing film, with incredible settings (the Forbidden City under the T'ang Dynasty), amazing costumes but what struck me most is a lovely young... from the Gauer+Marron Architects Studio

Jim Gauer is probably my all times favorite architect! he designs sleek, modern interiors that are also liveable and enjoyable! Before adding the finishing touches, hve knows how to hide the necessary but ugly pipes, ducts, risers, and cables (or even untangle them!).  here are a few examples of his sleek, chic look: from the Gauer Goldsmith apartment :    from the Stewart loft in NYC: The Stewart loft (NYC) - designed by architect J. Gauer : The living-room The kitchen The bathroom The... [Lire la suite]

Paul & Joe did it again!

Paul & Joe are the first names of Sophie Albou's sons. Sophie is a French fashion designer. What I really like about her compagny is the packaging of her range of cosmetics. As I stated before, i'm not a pink/girlie type, but Sophie makes pink and boudoir into a more mature, womanly sophistication, but with a twist and lots of fun. Every spring, her compagny designs a pouch to hold make-up brushes and other treasures, using a new lovely design (sometimes using a pattern from the fashion range). here are a few... [Lire la suite]
