Early signs of spring.

image via sfgirlbybay - I don't know who the artist is. I don't know about where YOU live, but here, in the South of France, the weather is already very fair. So I went and mail ordered red sandals and a white skirt at www.laredoute.com ! Can't wait to receive and wear them, well, indoors for the time being. I also ordered five bling-bling bracelets, for the fun of the sound they make. This sound reminds me of summer. 1. i got a pedicure today, 2. Not available, 3. Untitled I... [Lire la suite]

New design blogs that I love

Here is a short list of a few design blogs that I love and that I just discovered via sfgirlbybay (thanks Victoria !). The 2modern design talk, where Victoria herself guest blogs every Wednesday. Than, in no particular order, I also like : the "enhance the everyday" blog by pia jane bijkerk Heather at both her own blog "Skinny Laminx" and at the ELLE decoration one. Tons of inspiration and good blogging ! Beautymist.

How I drew my seasons greetings cards.

Every year I'm preparing my own Xmas cards... I decided the general setting would be of a bird (here, a sparrow) sitting on a branch of a tree. A bit like this pattern on a fabric sold at http://volksfaden.de/ : but I don't know to draw birds well though... I needed interesting, unusual berries: source : ATSF the bird was inspired to me by ũber-talented ceramist Diana Fayt: I also wanted a winter wonderland atmosphere: I first did a couple of doodles, then the final drawing. The very first doodle looked like... [Lire la suite]

designs from "atelier LZC"

This is one of my favorite design team in France: three very talented designers! They are very well known for their silkscreened teatowels - beautiful patterns. It was the first time I thought of teatowels as... art! I'll let the images speak for themselves... Above: a couple of designs for silkscreened teatowels (2003) They also create wall decals and stickers. ... Coasters made of silkprinted piece of grey slate : and even crazy mirrors! There is really something happy and fresh about... [Lire la suite]

Anha, lovely Anha designs.

"Anha" is a pair of talented designers working in France. She is from Vietnamese descent and her designs have a delicate Oriental feel to them, while he's an American, and brings the sleek chic side and names their products after Tribeca or Chelsea. They have a fashion range as well as a design one for the home.                 I love the modern twist brought to traditional Oriental lacquered objects: great combo!  I especially like their... super cute!

hello cute hedgehog... what are you doing on my design blog? well beside from being super cute, this hedgehog shares a small but cleverly arranged space with a cat (!) and Brandy, the human owner here. I love Brandy's place in Chicago... check it out! The Chicago Reader has issued a nice piece on 8 stylish small places and urban dwellings of the area. Brandy's place is part of that interesting article. AT reported about it, too, so I guess it means it's a must-read or... browse. Beautymist.
