Mosaic Monday with Nicholas Woodruff (aka AWG).
Hello Lovelies!
Seeing your contacts Flickr Favorites is an awesome way to discover new talents! That's how I discovered by pure chance the art of experimental collage by Nicholas Woodruff, through his awesome flickr photostream. Then I read his profile and discovered a very interesting interview of him over at "NOT PAPER".
Here's a mosaic made with four of his abstract collages. Be sure to visit the originals!
1. Untitled Two and a half, 2. Untitled Two, 3. Urban One, 4. Urban Two
Enjoy!

Psst... the "Timeless Pieces of Furniture" series will be back on Wednesday!

Pink: The Art of Line
Hello Lovelies!
and Happy Monday! Yes, let's start the week with a wonderful discovery I made recently...
detail of a painting by Line - from her website
I just discovered Line's art via the decor8 blog and just had to put an emphasis on it!
photo-montage by Holly Becker for her wonderful decor8 blog.
PINK is my least favorite color, but Line makes an exquisite use of it, together with the color red and abstract compositions. So I think I simply love her art!
Speaking of pink and the use of colors... Jan of the famed Poppytalk blog says: "We are going to do a spring colour week this coming week (March 8 - 12) on the blog if anyone wishes to join us! Blog/flickr these colours each day! It'll be fun! Then post them to this flickr group so we can all look at your spring colour images!
Mar 8 - Monday - Pink (Light Pink - baby pink)
Mar 9 - Tuesday - Green (Chartreuse)
Mar 10 - Wednesday - Yellow
Mar 11 - Thursday - Mauve/Purple
Mar 12 - Friday - Blue (Robins Egg Blue)"
I'm in!
This is my contribution for light pink (I bought these flowers thinking they were white liles, but they turned out to be exquisitely pink!).
I think I'm reconciled with the color pink now. ;-)))
Enjoy!

Hello lovelies!
Today I was thinking about getting this print - and oh coincidence! - miss swiss mentioned it on her blog! Hurry if you wanna get it, the maker has decided to stop its production! So sad... Buy it here.
click to enlarge the image - this is the calendar by "Something To See" - read below for more info
On a happier note, Mrs "Something to see" of flickr fame has made a wonderful botanic calendar and she now offers very large, high quality images of each month for you to print out! You can download February here. Every month comes with a botanical phtograph and an inspirational quote, too!
enjoy!

Michelle Lives with Art House Tour
Hello!
Another AT House Tour not to be missed! I especially loved the art Michelle hung above the couch in the living-room... Amazing, isn't it? Love its soft greys... The art is by Scott Benedict.
Here's what Michelle says : "the paintings are by an American artist - Scott Benedict. I bought them about 8 yrs ago from a small chelsea gallery called Zieher Smith www.ziehersmith.com. They might still be able to find you some of Scott's old work and if not, perhaps you can track Scott down directly on artnet.com"
enjoy!

Machines, Abstraction and Women
David Lynch in Paris - Galeries Lafayette's shopping windows, Boulevard Hausmann, until October the 3rd.

Sketch by David Lynch for the Paris exhibition.
Hello Lovelies!
I am a big admirer of David Lynch's cinema, especially the intriguing "Mulholland Drive", and also love his furniture design. So when I heard he was having an exhibit in Paris during my short stay there, I was pretty excited!
But then I went to see it and was hugely disappointed. So I tried something new: why not add a layer to something I found lacked depth? I decided to take shots of the exhibit, while purposely adding reflections of the windows, the facing buildings and silhouettes of passers by. I think the result is doing good to Lynch's work. So here goes (you can click on all my photos to view them larger):
This doll in a yellow dress was singing!
The tears were actually falling!
An abstract machine, reminding me of Marcel Duchamp. My fave!
